Treat Her Like A Lady?

Sometimes I have to address the ladies.  Fellas, I’m sure you can relate to this one, but ladies, pay attention.

I was hanging out with a few friends at a bar not too long ago, just letting off some steam on a Saturday night over a few drinks.  It’s a neighborhood dive and it’s a little ghetto, but the music is decent and the drinks are cheap.

I like to people watch.  I’m a people watcher.  As I look across the dance floor, I’m beginning to think that you can tell a lot about a woman over the kind of music she listens to. Maybe I’m putting too much stock into that but I don’t think I’m too far off.

This garbage rap song comes on and the women rush the dance floor, some screaming, “Gurl, that’s my song!”  The chorus goes:

“I know a lil’ freak, in in Hollywood, Sucks on d*ck, does it does it real good

I know a lil’ freak, in in Hollywood, Sucks on d*ck, does it does it real good

I long d*ck her like UGH UGH UGH, I long d*ck her like UGH UGH UGH,”

And the women in the place are singing along like UGH UGH UGH, making thrusting motions, and smacking each other on the ass.  They’re getting it in like they’re shooting the video for this sad ass song.

The only thing I could think was “I feel sorry for the poor bastard that picks a wife out of this sorry group of harlots.”

Now if a man ran up to one of these hoes and asked her “WHAT’S UP WITCHO PUSSY?”, she’d be offended, saying that she’s a woman and should be respected…but two seconds ago, she had her girlfriend bent over givin’ it to her hard and singing along about how her head game is so good.

B*tch please.

If you want me to treat you like a woman, act like one.  Don’t run around the bar with your titties poppin’ out screaming “I long d*ck her like UGH UGH UGH”.  You can bet if a guy asks you to dance while you’re talking about the good head you give, he isn’t thinking that you’re an intellectual and that he might take you home to meet Mom one day.

Trust me, the fellas are not trying to turn hoes into housewives.

My question is where did the ladies run off too? When did women like Anita Baker and Melissa Morgan get replaced by Lil’ Kim and Trina? (I admit though, I had the Lil’ Kim “Hardcore” album cover poster).  And when the f*ck did we think it was good thing?

I wish I could say it’s a sign of the times, but I can’t. I remember back in the mid 90’s, we use to go to this bar not too far from school.  The DJ would put on a certain record and all the girls would rush the dance floor screaming:

“Put it in my mouthhhhhhhhh.  In my muthaf*ckin’ mouthhhhhhhhhh.”

You didn’t need to ask a girl to dance.  Akinyele, Mr. “Ak-nell, you know I rock well, girl I’ll get up in that ass like K-Y Gel” did it for you.  And I knew none of these girls would ever be Ms. Right, just Ms. Right Now.  By 6:15, I was kickin’ em’ out….

I’ll call a ho a ho in a second.  If any lady reading this got offended reading this because they were singing UGH UGH UGH last week at the club…I’m sorry….but you’re probably a ho, or at least have ho tendencies.

If you want a man to respect you, act like the woman you claim to be.  Bottom line.

Feel free to comment.

Because I’m an old married dude and ain’t in the club no more; I can’t say I know exactly what’s going on. But I can wholeheartedly say that there is apparently a significant increase in the stripper and or prostitute population or women have for some reason decided that it’s a good idea to look like one. Then these same women who dress like hos are completely shocked and offended when they are approached like one. The sh*t is just amazing to me!
To paraphrase an analogy Chris Rock once used: if I you saw me and I were dressed like a cop, wouldn’t you tell me if your car was just stolen? By that same logic, if a guy is looking for some *ss and he sees a woman who is dressed up just like a ho; then why wouldn’t her with something along the lines of “how much?”

Exactly my point! Before someone else will respect you, you have to respect yourself. I don’t want to hear all that other feel good bullsh*t about disrespecting women. I wasn’t the one telling her to bend over and grab her ankles on the dance floor.

I agree 100%!!! I crindge when I see women act in such a manner. I like to give the benefit of the doubt that they don’t fully comprehend what their actions are insinuating, but realize these are grown women who know damn well what they are doing

Morning, Yadira. I wonder if these women could see themselves acting like that, would they recognize themselves? Would they respect themselves? I’m all for cuttin’ up and having a good time, but within reason. Have some self respect.

We don’t agree on my post re: Adam Lambert but on this post we can agree. If a woman wants to be treated like a lady she must first act like one.

Welcome, LorMarie. I’ll treat any woman like a queen, but she has to act like a lady. Anything less than that, you get what you deserve.

I agree with you on this one TrueMan. I love to dance, but on the rare occasion when I do go out once a song like that comes on, that’s my cue to exit stage left and sit my butt down on a chair in the corner. I people watch also and I notice the “women” who rush out when a demeaning song comes on. I come to the same conclusion as you, there goes Ms. Right Now.

That could be a blog topic in itself: what it is about some songs that makes seemingly good women turn into hoes. I have no idea. It’s as if they’re auditioning for a Lil’ Wayne video.

Lol. I can see the logic for this arguement, and its a good one. I do see this phenomenon go on quite often, which is why I don’t go to the club often. And it is confusing to her a girl sing about bragging on her sexual prowness then be offended if a man asks her about it (though I would never approach a woman this way). However, I think that the agruement that women who sing a song like “Look Back At It” reflects on them is a bit flawed. I mean, I know I have sung “Ima Dog” even though I’m not, and I have song “Ten Crack Commandments” even though I’m not a drug dealer. Music is sometimes used as an escape from reality…and I guess therein lies the conflict. When does the fantasy merge with reality?

Welcome YUM. Maybe I’m oversimplifying it but if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck…it’s a duck. I’m not saying a woman might be loose only if she hums a few bars of a song, but if she looks the part and is slapping her girlfriend on the ass on the dancefloor, she probably didn’t go Catholic school…(or maybe she did; I used to date a few of those girls. Freaks).

I say that part in jest, but the point is clear. If a woman doesn’t want to be treated like a ho, she shouldn’t act like one.

I can agree with this one. No more words need to be said..you said it all.

Thanks for reading. People, not just women but that’s the audience I”m addressing here, must realize that appearance is everything. If I see a woman acting like a ho, she’s a ho to me until I see otherwise. Bottom line.

I’m a Girl but I totally agree to this one. I mean, If you don’t want to be called a b*tch or a ho, then don’t act like one. Although, the songs today are getting nastier, I really don’t get it why people love songs like that. They might have nice beats but the lyrics!Oh my…Sounds like it came from an uneducated person.

Welcome Lana. People need to realize that you’re judged in part by your appearance. If it walks and talks like a duck, it’s a duck. I know that isn’t always right, but that’s the first impression. I want a lady that acts like a lady, not a “street corner solicitor.”

I totally agree with this topic! Act like a lay and you’ll be treated as such. Be a queen and your king will soon follow!

Exactly. A woman will attract a quality guy if she acts like a lady. If she’s out there being raunchy, she’ll be tagged as loose booty in a minute.
